Enrolment

If you are interested in enrolling your child at Petone Central School, then please do contact our school office (office@petone-central.school.nz), or come in to see us. We can give you an enrolment pack, talk to you about the school and take you on a tour of the school.

Cohort Entry at Petone Central School

From the 1st October 2026, Petone Central School will begin using a Cohort Entry Policy, which means new entrants (5 year olds) who start school after this date will start in a cohort or group. 

New entrants will start school in cohorts but only after they have turned five. 

There will be 2 entry points in each school term,  Week 1 and approximately Week 6. 

School visits will be streamlined to work with cohort entry points. Once enrolled, you will receive an email confirming your child's place at our school, and approximately 6 weeks prior to your child starting, you will receive another email outlining school visit dates and other relevant information. 

In total, there are 8 (Ministry of Education set) intakes each year.
